Sonny is survived by his vife, Marian Hawkins; son, i .Ron and wife Renee, and their on; brother, James; aunt, Elizabeth Sandifer and hus- band; numerous cousins, three step sons, Randal, Darrell and parrin Coe and their wives and Children; grandchildren; and tep daughter, Cheryl Pendleton and husband and their children. We will miss our beloved ltusband, father and stepfather, as we loved him very much. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, at Wilke-Clay- Fish Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at lh00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2003, at First Baptist Church in Kyle, Texas, with Pastor Robert Horton officiating. Interment will fol- low at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memori- al contributions may be made to the Hays County Livestock Expo. Cruze Deane, age 83, of Manchaca, Texas, born May 3, 1919, in Austin, Texas, passed away Friday, February 21, 2003, at St. David's Hospital in Austin, Texas. Rowena was the daughter of Alice A. Burton Cruze and William Peyton Cruze, both of whom preceded her in death. Rowena grew up in Manchaca, attended Manchaca Elementary School and Buda High School. John Blanton Deane and Obituaries Rowena were married 45 years before his death December 13, 1981. Our mother was a talented, kind, compassionate lady. She was a member of the Manchaca Baptist Church since March 24, 1929. Mother was a beau- tician, had her own shop for 40 years. She had many friends and was well thought of. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her older brother, Nolen Murray Cruze. Rowena is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Deane; son, Willie Scott Deane, both of Manchaca; granddaughter, Lena Marie and husband, Kevin Fisher; their three chil- dren, Mia, Jeremiah and Zovin of Fresno, California; grandson, Willie Scott Deane, Jr. of Austin; sister, Ella Rae Jackowski; and niece, Karen Marchant and husband, Ed Marchant of Austin, Jimmie Sue Kitchens of San Marcos; and grandnieces and nephews. Funeral services were held February 25th, at Wilke-Clay- Fish Funeral Home, with Reverend Tom Gautier offici- ating. Interment followed at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas. The pall- bearers were Joe Forest Dearie, Tommy Lynn Burton, John Lane Burton, Jimmy Young, Earnest Suygart and Bill Young. The family wants to say "'thanks" to Andrew Alpire and his staff at the South Austin Dialysis Center, who were all very kind and caring to our Mother. EDWARDS J. M. Edwards passe d away Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at his Midland residence. He was born July 8, 1927, to Jesse and Gladys Mason Edwards in Marietta, Oklahoma. J.M. served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. He moved to Midland in 1950 and worked for I.W. Hynd, Sargeant Industries and EDS building electric units for the oil industry. In 1961 he mar- ried Jean Mashburn and gained four children who he loved and raised as his own. Together they had one son. From 1990 until the time of his death J.M. was a bus driver for special students with MISD. A quiet man, who never met a stranger, J.M. will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature. He was a mem- ber of Crestview Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 4-5 year olds for a number of years. "'Mr. Jay" will long be remembered by many children. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mitchell Mashburn. J.M. is survived by his wife, Jean Edwards of Midland; son, Bruce Edwards of Kyle; son, John and wife, Bonnie Mashburn of Abilene; granddaughter, Amy Pope and husband, Michael of Abilene; great-grandsons, Tyler Wilkins of Burleson, and John Michael Pope of Abilene; daughter-in-law, Juhree Jeffcoat of Midland; grand- son, Clint Shepherd of Austin; grandson, Casey Mashburn and wife, Ashley of Midland; great-grandchildren, Madison, Laison, and Shailyn Mashburn of Midland; grand- son, Cody Mashburn of Midland; daughter, Beverly Jean Mashburn of Austin; daughter, Brenda Kay Mashburn of Kyle; brother, Ned Mason and wife, Christy of Charleston, SC; numerous extended family members. Funeral services were Friday, February 21, 2003, at Crestview Baptist Church with Dr. John Gerlach officiat- ing. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.
