She's a three-year-old Belgian Malinois who spent most of her life in Germany before entering the United States last Decem- ber. She was acquired by the police force this summer from Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, where she was being trained as a pa- trol/explosives dog• "The wonderful thing about Cora is she works for food," brags police Chief Bo Kidd. "No overtime." Cora and her handler, Officer Patrick Cheatham, are being certified through the National Narcotics Detector Dog Association. Cora will be introduced to the public at the National Night Out kickoff party at Buda City Hall, Thursday at 6 p.m. • Bowl-A-Then, 9 a.m.-noon.
