One highlight of the day was HCISD band director and National Guard Sergeant First Class Marvin Housley's presentation of an American flag that had flown over Basra, Iraq, during his tour there with the 36th Infantry Division to Lehman Principal Don Ruisinger and HCISD Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Lyon. Pfluger Falcons learn about government Pfluger Elementary School 1st graders spent class time studying the various levels of government, from local to federal. Then they invited Buda Mayor Sarah Mangham to visit the campus, and the entire grade level enjoyed the give-' and-take, question-answer visit she provided. PHOTO BY JIM CULLEN School Briefs Continued from pg. 3B Scouts collect toys for Brown Santa project Troop 967 Scouts will be collecting toys at the Saturday, Dec. 3, Budafest for the Hays County Brown Santa drive. The troop will be set up to receive donations at the Du Pre Em- porium on Main Street. Brown Santa is annu- ally conducted by the Hays County Sheriff's Department, the drive gathering toys, food and funds for Hays County families in need. Hundreds of area families are served each year.
