BUDA A BITS I The Buda Library start offthe NewYear with adult art classes with artist Zak Dennis on Wednesday, Jan. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with classes held on the first Monday of each month. For more information, call 366-2393. Members of the Onion Creek Senior Center will not meet on Thursday, Dec. 29. After the New Year, members will gather on Thursday, Jan. 5 when the doors"open at 9 a.m. for games and visiting. The menu for the noon lunch will be King Ranch casserole, pinto beans, Texas Toast and various cakes. The beginning of 2011 saw the groundbreaking for the new 2&000-sq.-ft. Kyle Public Library featur- ing spacious community rooms, the Heritage room, a children's area featuring early literacy computers, and areas with comfort- able seating for reading magazines or relaxing with a good book. The project- ed grand opening is this spring. Other highlights of 2011 were the naming of a new Library Director, Connie Brooks, and the hiring of an Assistant Direc- tor, CaraWaits. The Kyle Public Library web site took on a new look and new courtesy services were implemented including reminder email notices for materials coming due and 'the option of having the library's newsletter sent directly to your email.
